No it comes under ur control if its a permanent, if can see some play in reanimate i guess.

i have 1 in my deck and it seems to come out when i need it, with 4 dark rituals and a couple dual lands in a deck 1 like these can be very usefull when you need a big creature with a sweet ability like this. its true that it costs alot but i only put 1 in my deck so when i get it i usually have enough mana or close to.

This is a great card in my reserection deck which gets around the mana cost.
