How is the tribe scout better...? Yes, you can use this ability as an instant, but how many people are gonna play a land on their opponent's turn. Not to mention, this was made first.
This is type 2 legal, and your more likely to see an elf deck than a snake deck....

The Sakura serve three purposes very well:
1.) Deck Thinner: whenever I use it one land less on the library
2.) Color fixer: I can acquire the colors I am missing at the moment.
3.) Chump Blocker: this is no really body, however the sacrifice ability does a great job at making any non-trample exchange to absorb damage and then sacrifice for all the above.

what does this do?
1.) possible mana acceleration?: you need a land in your hand, this one the field, to tap this, and you can only do it at sorcery speed.
Wow, this card does suck as much as I thought before i made this little diagram, sorry Wizard but this get beaten by even a Fertilid Buy in this situation and Fertilid Buy is not to good we can speak of.

Solid card - so it can only be played as a sorcery but just like the snake already mentioned this is land acceleration and that includes non basic lands. Turn 1 play this, turn 2 play the better card, and have 4 lands in play, turn 3 play the rest of your lands.

I'm upgrading my vote. Use in decks built around draw and you will soon have more lands then you can deal with.
