One advantage of control magic is that it doesn't die to creature removal. While Sower is fantastic, it dies to easily to burn, black creature kill, crib swap, etc. and thus it isn't guaranteed that the stolen creature remains stolen.

Its still pretty good however and I bet it would get played in at least one tourney deck.

Well with Vigor Buy becoming more and more popular nowadays. You could control him and just go ahead and keep those Pyroclasm Buys coming. This guy basically gives mono greens a hard time.

Personally one of my favorite cards. I just thought of an amazing deck with this, so I'm going to make it now....

does anyone see the weaknesses of this card?
Shock, Tarfire, Incinerate, Disintegrate, Pyroclasm, Terror, Lys Alana Scarblade, Scarblade Elite, Fodder Launch, and Nameless Inversion.
It's still a good card, just has a lot of weaknesses, and yes, i know its blue for control, but nevertheless still has weaknesses, as the above listed spells are extremely cheap and you can play more than one of them in a turn.

ZOMG A CREATURE CAN BE KILLED BY BURN HOLY CRAP THAT MUST MEAN IT SUCKS RIGHT?!?!?!??!?! Geez...if you dont want it to get killed, slap a friggin Robe of Mirrors Buy (which will be the only time THAT sees play) and you have a Control Magic Buy, a 2/2 flyer, and an opponents creature for {2}{U}{U}{U}...In the modern metagame where aggro is so prevalent it is just amazing.

Well, Dark_Flame, I must say, that was rather amusing. I never said Sower of Temptation sucked, as I had clearly stated in my comment that the card didn't suck, that I thought it was a good card, but it was easily susceptible to removal. And even with Robe, someone can still use Naturalize, of all cards to use on enchantments, to destroy the Robe, then use Inversion to kill the faerie, thus getting their creature back. All for only three mana, you kill an annoying little 2/2 flyer and get your creature back whatever it was. So even your little Robe of Mirrors trick won't work with that. And don't even think about mentioning Privileged Position or That Which Was Taken. There's an answer to both of those: Artifact destruction for Taken(even if Sower has a divinity counter on it, and Taken is destroyed, Sower is no longer indestructible), and enchantment destruction for Position, not to mention something else. HINT: Wrath of God/Damnation doesn't target. I'm not trying to be rude, but you need to learn to read someone's comments clearly before posting a reply to them.

As a player who runs a blue hybrid thief deck, this card's severe weakness, like said before, is that it is prone to creature removal.

I was contemplating putting these into my deck, but I realized it's not worth it. I already run a play set of Control Magic and I'll keep it that way.

Yeah the card is good. Yeah just because it dies from burn/removal doesn't make it bad. But when it's effect RELIES on it being out on the field, then it's usefulness drops steeply.

no offense, ultros, but this creature has great usefulness, and was used by the champ of shizuoka, who masters in faeries. I don't think someone who has posted a white weenie deck should give this card 2 in usefulness, when a real champ puts this card to amazing use.

I agree with pein on this one. It's got its weaknesses, but it's, nevertheless, still a good card. If I could get my mitts on a set of them, I would snatch that chance up in a heartbeat. But, we all have our own opinions. What can I say?

Has everyone forgot that this card is blue which most blue decks have counters that would stop the removal of this card? As long as the spell doesn't have split second it can be countered and stopped by a good blue deck.

3 on originality for being just a creature version of Control Magic.

This card hits hard when it matters. It is not like the opponent has a zillion removal spells available.

I use this in my aggro control deck Mr.Gaddock and he won me many games when the game was tight.

I also use Sylvan Safekeeperto make their removal useless
