Pernicious Deed Buy, Plaguebearer Buy = much better. Too much mana and too many colors.

Yeah, why just destroy their lands when you could destroy your own too? [/sarcasm]

You, Sir, are retarded.

1: Destroy Target Land. Nice. And with only 2 cards.

I have a mental image of dropping the guy, and then making a shotgun loading sound.

Good. I do think Plaguebearer Buy would be superior to Deepfire Elemental Buy, but that doesn't invalidate the combo.

Woah. People don't need to get up in arms about this. I actually don't think that plaguebearer is better in this combo, and pernicious deed almost certainly isn't. By the time you want to do this, you'll have six mana. (You have to cast affinity, then have mana left to kill lands.) And I think at that point, the harder to remove 4/4 body and colorless activation are actually more valuable than the lower cost.

Quoting Sir Evil:Pernicious Deed, Plaguebearer = much better. Too much mana and too many colors.

Three colors isn't as hard to do as it used to be, the three colors used here have a good selection of mana acceleration, and this is type 2 legal.

Very, very nice indeed. And while Plaguebearer may work better in terms of mana, don't forget that as a creature, it's way weaker than the Elemental. So it's all a matter of whether you prefer power or speed, really (& the Deed doesn't work that well, as it isn't reusable).

Either way, damn fine combo! ^_^

I agree that while plaguebearer is likely better, and ulitamtly much faster. People need to realize that this combo is currently Standard legal, secondly three colors is not that hard at all to accomplish thanks to Ravnica. And secondly, short of Douse in Gloom, very few decks could quickly come back from such a devistating attack. Well done!
