Magister Sphinx Buy + Wound Reflection Buy
Magister Sphinx Buy causes loss of life (rule Ruling 215.5). Wound Reflection Buy doubles it. If your opponent is at 20+, they lose.

Play in your second main phase for great justice. Add cards like Wall of Shards Buy or Soldevi Steam Beast (2) Buy to give them enough rope to hang themselves.

Biggest problem with this comb is the insane mana cost you need in a single turn.

7 mana for the sphinx, 6 for the black spell. With out heavy mana acceleration, you will only be able to pull this off way later.

With Master Transmuter you can play the first part for one mana at least...

Wound reflection is an enchantment, so it does not need to be played in the same turn as the sphinx.

Yeah, people complain about "insane" mana costs... but isn't(wasn't) there a deck based around Cruel Ultimatum Buy? Last time I checked, {U}{U}{B}{B}{B}{R}{R} wasn't the easiest thing in the world to cast, and this is actually probable in a control deck.

Rule 215 is the Legend Rule. And rule 215.5 doesn't exist. Either way, it does work, although Hidetsugu's Second Rite Buy does the same thing, is cheaper, and has been posted.

second rite is more mana intensive, since you only get one shot off before your opponent figures out to take one point of burn and goto 9. so youll need to do both sphinx and second right in a turn, and thats like 11 mana, which makes throwing a 10 point fireball almost look good

this staggers nicely as a 6 drop and 7 drop (hahaha)

Quoting WotC:215.5. If an effect sets a player’s life total to a specific number, the player gains or loses the necessary amount of life to end up with the new total.

This is perfect... The Wound Reflection Buy shouldn't be too hard to get with a good mana base. Using anything to speed up your mana base (Sol Ring Buy, Dark Ritual Buy, Grim Monolith Buy, name it..) you can get fast Copper Gnomes Buy and you're on your way for the Magister Sphinx Buy. Not to mention Tinker Buy, Deathrender Buy, etc.Everything else can be tutoring and control and you can buy time to get your main combo pieces. Great! I like it.. A LOT. It can make an amazing and fun playing deck!

The esper artifact deck with master transmuter can do this very well, with minimal modifications. Sphinx Summoner for whatever you need, maybe put in a couple Liliana Vess, which is capable of getting the enchantment. Now that is a combo that is difficult to disrupt. If they counter anything you can easily bring it back with sharum . . . very good. I would be worried about opposing meddling mages, however. That could really f*&% you up. Overall, decent combo, better than most I have seen, and is relevant for standard. The two things it has going for it that other combo decks do not: 1. it is slightly harder to disrupt 2. you can easily win even if your combo does not go off
