The deck has no cohesion. You threw together playsets of a bunch of random black cards. Try to work in a theme so that the cards work together, rather than just playing card after card with no relation to any others. It has the feel of a black weenie deck, but it feels like it's missing pieces. I would recommend dropping some of the discard and adding more removal. Your plan with your deck is to win quick and win big; the discard will only slow you down.

Well... I think that Loxodon Warhammer Buy would suit this deck rather nicely. Only two needed really. It will give you the power you need on your fliers, and help keep your life in check while using Phyrexian Arena Buy. I wouldn't give it all fives honestly, so I won't rate.

Personally, the only way I would even try to make MBC this format would be to add in Kamigawa cards like Kokusho, the Evening Star Buy and Kagemaro, First to Suffer Buy. I wouldn't worry about it because Kamigawa doesn't even cycle out for awhile [9th will cycle out before it, so if your that worried cut the Hypnotic Specter Buy, Phyrexian Arena Buy, Cruel Edict Buy, Consume Spirit Buy, and Royal Assasin (the warhammer will be in 10th, so that doesn't matter)]. If your looking for a non-kamigawa answer, I can't give it to you. Sorry If you thought the info about Kamigawa's rotation was useful please rate my Tainted Snow Control (even though I don't expect it)

If not for the maindeck, then at least for the sideboard, I would consider Nightcreep Buy. Played right, it can be like a mini orim's chant. If you exchanged a few swamps for Blood Crypt Buys, you could throw in a couple of Crypt Champion Buys. doublestrike with a warhammer is painful, and reviving a hippie or assassin could come in handy. Slithering Shade Buy could round out some defense. In a mono-black deck, it can chew up some large contenders, and stall out many aggro critters. Plus, getting into the attack if you ever empty your hand is a nice little bonus. Traditional black control has often relied on discard and creature elimination. Pretty much focus on those two aspects. A solid regenerator like Mortivore Buy may give you field advantage when you aquire control. Plus, all those discarded and killed creatures...

Always good to see Suicide black...Nightshade ASS is always a good card to use for control, it's a 2for1. Also, I find in mono-black that Plague Sliver Buy as a 2-copy adds for extra beat. Soul Spike Buy is a nice spot removal card as well as a life equalizer if you've taken some unavoidable damage, especially since you have Phyrexian Arena Buy in a mono-black. I've actually taken a few FNM's because of SS so don't be afraid to at least try it out. Plz check out my "Zombies T/S" deck. It's the deck I'm working on for states. ISA

Ok, so this is basically a much worse version of what im gonna be running at Champs. Cut all the discard. save it for the side. Bobs are your friend, its worth it. Istevan is not for this deck. Nether Traitor needs to be in here, a playset infact. I would give more suggestions, but i dont want to give away my deck too much.

You should take out 4 Istavan and add 2 stronghold overseer since you said you needed a kill card and it is under $5. If you don't like this suggestion you should at least take out 2 cards to bring your deck count to 60. Please rate my URB Draw/Discard or Ping/Lockdown deck.

sangrpphage blows, particularly in this deck. it dusn't have any form of evasion, and it hits u for 2 life a turn- which ain't so great w/o any life gaining. replaceit with something big and nasty, like Plague Sliver Buy...
