I'd leave out the Mind Twist. Misdirection is way too common these days for anyone to play Mind Twist without being in a dangerous situation.

You should replace it with either Imperial Seal Buy or another Nether Spirit.

Despite having bad synergy with Demon, Yawgmoth's Will Buy is far too powerful to ignore.

I'd also find room for Pithing Needle Buy

honestly, i am not that familiar with mono-black decks so, I really can't think of anything to add here..... besides, it looks incredible already..... ummmmm, how about some fetchlands? or a pithing needle for the sideboard. sorry for the weak comment.... hehe... thanks for the rate anyway.....

Pithing Needle should beat the GAT

Leyline of the Void stops many decks...it could help you beat oath (if you destroy the oathed out creature somehow?? and reanimate)

Hope you like the help

This deck would only seem to be weak against creature based decks because it would definitely throw any other type of deck off. I suggest adding in some kind of creature control, diabolic edict, terror, just something. Mostly I think rancid earth would take care of anything pesky.

Dude I like this deck Idea very much. I think you should put in a few racks. Youve got tons of discard with the duress, hymns, pox/smallpox. They only take 1 to cast and theyre hands are gonna go after only a few turns.

Looks very mean. I have nothing to suggest, except editting for better matchups against the decks you have trouble with, sideboarding against them, etc.

I don't really care about Misdirection Buy since it can be played around with Duress Buy. And anyway, I really like the explosiveness of Mind Twist Buy with Dark Ritual Buy. I decided to cut Nether Spirit because at the end of the day, its just a weak 2/2 bear.

Done and done.

Pithing Needle Buy is vastly overrated. My sideboard is enough to handle any cards that needle might answer.

Interesting but LotV can be easily answered by Krosan Grip Buy from the side. Extirpate Buy is better graveyard hate, IMO. The bad Oath match is just something I have to live with.

Quoting TheGrassyKnoll 8/10/2007 12:34:23 AM:I think you should put in a few rack
The Rack Buy sucks.

Thanks for all the rates guys. Keep 'em coming!

EDIT: Interesting how a year playing the deck has changed my perspective. Pithing Needle is not overrated and keeps creeping back into my sideboard, LotV is a permanent part of my board now too and Yawgmoth's Will is no longer in the deck.

Looks like a potent deck, not tier 1, but potent! Personally i like it (What's there not to like about MBC Happy). The Oath match-up could perhaps be improved with Diabolic Edict Buy, as could reanimator. You could also consider Bitter Ordeal Buy instead of Extirpate Buy in the sideboard cause you'll be having a lot of permanents going in the graveyard in a single turn. This way you can remove the important combo cards in e.g The Belcher or Flash matchup. Don't know if its too mana expensive or to slow though. As for Goblins i think the only option is to use the Engineered Plague Buy already in the sideboard.

Yawgmoth's Will Buy and Tombstalker Buy seem to be somewhat contradictive, though I'm honestly not sure if this really hurts.

Same goes for Demonic Consultation Buy: You want cards in your graveyard, not removed from game, but again this is probably just a minor point.

The only reason for Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth Buy I can see is having Mishra's Factory Buy produce black mana, too. For that 3 seem too much, as being stuck with a second legendary land in your hand sucks.

With Mind Twist Buy and Smokestack Buy I'd add some more mana acceleration, even if it is non-black (Sol Ring Buy).

And few things annoy more than a Hymn to Tourach Buy on turn one thanks to Lotus Petal Buy, Mox Diamond Buy or Chrome Mox Buy. Happy

Altogether definitely a nice twist on your standard black disruption strategy and most probably lots of fun to play.

I'm not so sure about the "tournament quality", though, as it is a bit too slow for that.

Interesting deck. I really don't have a lot to offer for it unfortunately, as it seems fairly solid already. For casual play, it would be great. However, In the case of playing horde decks that don't consist of simply 1/1 elves or goblins, I think a Damnation Buy or two would be a good idea. Also, some form of direct creature removal, whether it's Smother Buy, or whatever you prefer, as long as it's not Terror Buy. However, I'm not really sure what you would get rid of to replace these. Sorry!

This does seem strong. You might play more Mind Twist since that got unrestricted, though I'm not sure what you'd take out. You could also play a Trinisphere to help keep them away from winning.

Really cool deck, I don't see what could be done to make it better, but just in case you didn't know, mind twist is LEGAL in vintage from now on Happy

nice work!

I would definitely take out the solo Cabal Therapy Buy. with only the four maindeck critters it really loses a lot of its potency. Imperial Seal Buy and Pithing Needle Buy would both be fin choices for replacement.

Always good to see MBC, definitely one of my favorite archetypes

cheers
