consider penumbra wurm . I am not sure how you plan to get hypnox out from your side board with only 4 lands that can produce black in your deck. I think you should ditch him.

pleaze think before rating!!! living wish..hunting grounds... hello! maybe I stitch to one idea but they go well by eachothers side, you play obliterate, and brushopper trick, and have a hunting grounds in play, then you can put out a really big creature without paying for it.

not all that bad of a deck, however i would reccomend running some karplusan forest and brushland to stabalize your mana base.

yeah, I thought of that also when creating the deck, but I dont like taking the damage, because this deck can somewhat be slow sometimes and then i take a lot of damage, so I won't put some painlands in, maybe take out thoose city of brass, and put in two karplussan and two brushland, then i will not take damage while using the riftstone effect. Thanx anyway.

First of all, thanks for rating my shabbily constructed instant fun deck, I kicked myself when I realized that counterspells are instants and not interrupts even though it has been like that for a while now. Anyways, I have sat here now for an hour (seriously) contemplating your deck and I believe that it can only reach its most potent form if the two themes are divided into two entirely separate decks. That aside, I do believe I can help it by turning it into a more defensive deck. (Mind you these are all suggestions and they may very well be poor given your current play environment)

First, make sure you get the cards you need. You really should run four obliterates and four living wishes. Also, consider including a couple of sterling groves to make sure you can search out (and/or protect) that mirari's wake or hunting grounds. Browbeat is an excellent card-drawing mechanism, however given that you will be more defensive, the opponent will readily take five damage to the three cards you will draw making it ineffective in this deck. I can't really think of an effective card to increase your ability to get all the cards you need aside from howling mine.

Second, lose the rifraff that doesn't fit the theme. Drop the rootwallas, mongrels, and reborn heroes as there is no need for their piddly offensive qualities compared to a huge hypnox or something else terrorizing the opponent. It may just be me, but ancestral tribute just seems to expensive even for a defensive card.

Third, accelerate your mana. Run four birds of paradise, this will help a great deal. Another suggestion for mana acceleration is harrow, this card is truly underestimated. It will put two cards in your graveyard, add to your mana base, diversify your mana base (allowing you to remove the painful city of brasses), and it essentially costs only one mana after the effect has been performed.

Fourth, make sure you have effective and highly efficient removal. The wrath of god is great but I can also highly reccomend earthquake or breath of darigaaz as it will clear the ground and leave your birds unscathed. Since you would no longer have as much of a madness theme, consider replacing the Fiery Tempers with firebolts and the Volcanic Eruptions with the earthquake/breath. Don't forget about enchantments/artifacts, put in a couple of disenchants just in case.

Fifth, make sure you get threshold. Running four book burnings will make that no problem.

Well, that is my full advice. At the very least, it may help you organize the deck to have it do what you really want. Good luck.

I know that it has a hard time against control, but there shouldn't be so much control in standard after the invasion cycle has rotated out standard. Maybe 'Tog is the most scarry thing to this deck, but maybe I'll have some insist in the deck or the sideboard, i'm looking to improve it right now.

Why crystal quarry? man i'm only playing three colors! I'm not trying to play my sideboard big creatures by paying their mana cost.

Not bad, but Hypnox Buy seems a bit out of place. If ur usin Hunting Grounds Buy only for that reason, maybe you should rather consider usin multiple Laquatus's Champion Buy.
