Looks like a mean, nasty, evil deck. And it's very similar to the build I used to have, so I naturally like it. I especially applaud the use of Vanishing, which was always my favorite means of protecting Zur. Have you tried using Cataclysm Buy? That was always game over when it resolved. Kira, Great Glass-Spinner Buy was another all star in my deck, as it can come down before Zur to protect him while he's sick. Finally, I liked Hall of the Bandit Lord Buy as one of the few means to give Zur haste. Getting Zur online a turn earlier is well worth the downsides of that land, IMO.

I haven't heard of Cataclysm but i'll definitely check it out. Kira is a great card, but this deck is expensive enough as it is, and while I'd love to put her in this deck, I wouldn't want to remove my next most expensive card from here. Props for using Hall of the Bandit Lord, but I don't think I can bring myself to using that card. Lol!

- I don't really like Zur Edh, but I'll do my best to be helpful. Run a few more utility creatures or counter-spells to protect him. He's pretty vulnerable to come into play effects that kill creatures or enchantments. - Get a back up plan, possible more Planeswalker.

Deck description should no longer be tagged "Creatureless". Because there are some ballin' creatures in here. Sun Titan Buy comes to mind as a synergistic choice, especially with the addition of fetch lands, and best with the seals ;) I'd say ditch the Vivid Creek Buy style lands. Drop land count in general to ~35. Add mana acceleration, rocks like: Grim Monolith Buy, Basalt Monolith Buy, Mana Vault Buy, Thran Dynamo Buy, Gilded Lotus Buy, Armillary Sphere Buy, etc. Check my Blast 'Em, Heartless Hidetsugu EDH deck for the sexiest mana rocks. Bribery Buy, Knowledge Exploitation Buy, and Praetor's Grasp Buy also prove useful everytime I've found. You don't have a mana outlet//dump! That's a big deal. Soothsaying Buy, Flickerform Buy, Iceberg Buy, Necromancy Buy, Second Chance Buy + Necropotence Buy, Consecrated Sphinx Buy, Night Dealings Buy, Exsanguinate Buy. There are some cool things you could do here. Yes, I like this deck. Played ones like it, and they are challenging - usually requiring the immediate addition of cards like Grand Abolisher Buy and Dosan the Falling Leaf Buy *twitch*. My only real problem with control/countery Zur decks is that they always ultimately win with pure general damage. I mean... theoretically, if I tucked Zur and played Stranglehold Buy, there aren't many other alternatives in the deck. 1v1 though, this deck is dominating - one of the strongest. I'd venture to say the deck needs other avenues that mold synergistically with the key//core components of your deck. Be it combo, burn, activated abilties + Rings of Brighthearth Buy, drawing cards like a boss, your deck should be doing multiple things in multiple ways. All while controlling those around you and benefiting from their loss. Recur those countered creatures! Seal away that threat, then smile at the seal with a Sun Titan Buy. Think with changes of that nature, your opponents would enjoy the game more, and you would retain mastery+win. Better multiplayer experience as well! Seems win-win to me

I had a Zur 60-card deck, and one card I found extremely useful was Mistveil Plains Buy. Did your opponent just naturalize that enchantment that was keeping you from losing, or was going to win you the game? Use the land to put it on the bottom of your library, and search it up with Zur again. Reito Lantern Buy could achieve the same thing, but takes up a potentially very valuable non-land slot. I'd also suggest finding room for Sovereigns of Lost Alara Buy. A very solid card to go alongside Zur in this type of deck. You don't play quite as many auras as I did in mine, but still, there are enough that it may be worth it. Academy Rector Buy, if you can get it, would also make a wonderful addition. Those are just my two cents. Take what you will, and give the rest to the poor. Tanithilis
