What's a Sideboard?

How it Works

A lot has changed since i started this. There is some dredge left but mostly this deck isn't meant to dredge. You are meant to look at your starting hand and think what is the quickest way to get 10-12 power out by turn 3. dredging is something you do to get incremental advantages in the mid game when you are closing it out. Similar decks play death's shadow or more Grumag Anglers but they don't help with the explosive starts which this deck is all about.

I like the way the deck runs because if feels comboish. It lacks interaction and it is a puzzle to see how best to deploy your starting hand.
--------------------------------------10/3/2017 Update--------------------------

This is a dredge deck. I play all five colors hence the name of the deck.

So, a quick note about the cards that are suppose to be in here but are not on the site.

4 Insolent Neonate = hedron crab
4 Prized Amalgam = hero of bladhold
3 Stitchwing Skaab = skab somethingorother

You only need two land to operate the deck. So you need to keep a hand with two lands or 1 land and a faithless looting/ burning inquiry(if your feeling lucky). This aims for a turn 2 or turn 3 big play.

A normal hand would be: Gemstone Mine, Overgrown tomb, Insolent Neonate, Stinkweed imp, vengevine, Faithless looting, bridge from below.

T1 play Mine, faithless looting. Drop vengevine and a dredge card in the yard(best dredge cards are in this order (Grave troll, imp, loam, dakmor salvage).

T2-??? Dredge hopefully milling (vengevine, bridge from below, Prized Amalagam, Gravecrawler, Stitchwing Skaab, or another dredge card. Play cards in such a way to ensure a vengevine activation.

The goal is to get enough stuff to trigger a Vengevine Buy and swing. There is a ton of play to this deck. Here are some fun tricks.

You can return Stitchwing Skaab on your opponents turn.
Prized Amalagam can be returned at the end of your opponents turn. So you can attack with him on your turn.

Bridge from Below Buy pairs with the Viscera Seer Buy and Insolent Neonate to do some crazy things. Both can trigger on your opponents turn.

Other cards that I've thought about but didn't make the cut

Sac outlets
Drown Rusluka
Greater Gargadon

Discard outlets
Lotleth Troll
Zombie Infestation

Free creatures

Milling cards
Hedron Crab
glimpse the unthinkable
Thought scour

There are plenty of ways to build a dredge deck now. I aimed to make the quickest but beefy deck possible.

-----------------------------------10/13/16 Update --------------------------------------------------

Its been a while since I updated the deck. With more creatures to chose from I decided to move solidly into only 3 colors (jund).

The ideal opening now is start with a 1 drop 4x Neonate, 4x Burning Inquiry, 2x Greenkeeper to put a dredge card in the graveyard. Then shenanigans.

I've opted to go with vengevine to try and close the game out earlier on. I know some decks run Gargadon with bridge to do the same but I don't think you are rewarded by bridge with a ton of midrange decks running around.

Rally the peasants I may try down the road.

Anyway I would love to hear your thoughts.
