How it Works
Mighty Morphin' Power Shifter Thanks entirely to Random_Miser
I suppose I should explain the choices: Spotlight: Garruk Wildspeaker Buy was requested to fill the spot of: Seems practical, right? Ah, yes, but he is so much more vulnerable. Tarmogoyf Buy by himself negates this card. Why? Because he will be bigger than your creature tokens, and he will be big enough to stop the overrun effect, unless you chump, which is counter-productive to the overrun effect. Also, the deck is not looking for a four-drop. This card was requested as one of the bullets for the deck.Brine Elemental Buy is certainly a good card with Vesuvan Shapeshifter Buy. However, it is remarkably slow, especially if you are tutoring to get it. Pickles shined in a meta with limited good removal, and where certain decks would have no answer to the lock. Now, however, every deck has an answer, it seems, and the overwhelming presence of Garruk Wildspeaker Buy makes Brine Elemental Buy decks a thing of the past. This card was requested to fill the spot of:

This will not do. Yavimaya Dryad, while worse on defense, carries the Loxodon Warhammer Buy, which is essential. Wall of Roots Buy also has it's drawbacks negated if the opponent wrath of gods or does some other similar effect. Shriekmaw Buy also eats Wall of Roots Buy for breakfast. Wall of Roots Buy is better in most decks, but not this one, in part due to Vesuvan Shapeshifter Buy, who frowns at copying walls. THE DECK Aeon Chronicler Buy: The decks only real fatty. He cantrips when he comes into play, and typically I only set him to one, (or two if I have another in hand, and the board is not threatening.) He's really good when you suspend for five, then drop Loxodon Warhammer Buy on him and swing. But, eh, what isn't?Birds of Paradise Buy: first turn accelerator, almost always play before search for tomorrow, just because you often will just play Search for Tomorrow Buy on the second turn, unsuspended.Deadwood Treefolk Buy: Just a one-of. He is tutored by primal command, and has a huge butt. Him and Vesuvan Shapeshifter Buy are a 2 card combo that can grab every dude in your yard if left unchecked.Fathom Seer Buy: Lots of people don't understand this guy. He's difficult to play correctly. If you suspect removal, don't play him with less than four lands in play. He makes Aeon Chronicler Buy huge, and has a big-enough butt for several creatures, including tokens.Looter il-Kor Buy: Like a one-sided Howling Mine Buy. Interestingly enough, he is the most boarded out. He is very good though, and can make land heavy // land light draws into decent hands.Razormane Masticore BuyHe can be a house against aggro, and is extremely hard to remove, since he gets around Sudden Death Buy, Nameless Inversion Buy, Shriekmaw Buy, Shock Buy, Tarfire Buy, Rift Bolt Buy, and Incinerate Buy. Eyeblight's Ending Buy is the only spot removal that deals with this guy. Also, interesting to note, you can have Vesuvan Shapeshifter Buy copying this guy, then flip him back over before you have to pay the upkeep cost, then morph him up to deal the 3 damage at your draw step.Vesuvan Shapeshifter Buy: The deck's key card. Makes Fathom Seer Buy ridiculous, and can copy opponent's awesome cards, like Bogardan Hellkite Buy and Hostility Buy.Yavimaya Dryad Buy: He beats face, and replaces himself. Note the ability to give your opponent forests to landwalk all over them. He is just not fearsome enough to not be targeted by removal.Rune Snag Buy: Comes out of nowhere for a lot of people. If you play it early, they are expecting lots more counters. If you play it late, they will not have expected it. It's great for countering Wrath of God Buy or Damnation Buy when your opponent figures you've just over-extended.Primal Command Buy: Much better than people give it credit for. Helps survive against aggro, especially if they are depending on an Overrun Buy from Garruk Wildspeaker Buy. Deals with planeswalkers, MVP against Dragonstorm Buy, and generic tutor. Note that if you REALLY need a non creature threat GONE, you can bounce it to the top, then have them shuffle the whole GY, losing the threat to their library.Search for Tomorrow Buy: Another turn one drop, it finds your mountain for the sideboard stuff.Loxodon Warhammer Buy: Essential to the deck. It's between this card and Garruk Wildspeaker Buy, and I find that this one is less vulnerable, and more swingy. About half the creatures have evasion of some sort, making solid life swings a good possibility. Don't worry about losing tempo by equipping, then getting it shocked, or whatever. If they aren't threatening you on the board, chances are you'll just drop another dude they have to deal with the next turn.Mosswort Bridge Buy: Currently testing. The CiPT doesn't really hurt all that much, while the rewards of playing pretty much anything for a G is nice. Usually you can only flip after a chronicler comes into play, but that's often enough to be worth it.The island to forest ratio is due to the effects of Fathom Seer Buy and Yavimaya Dryad Buy.Sideboard:Boom // Bust: Great way to punish non-blue control decks, and midrange decks alike. Alot of decks will just fold to a bust with chronicler in play.Eyes of the Wisent Buy was added as an anti-blue measure. I was not pleased with the deck's performance against mono-blue, and so have added this. The problem with this deck against blue, is that they have Desert Buy, which means they really only have to counter Vesuvan Shapeshifter Buy, Aeon Chronicler Buy and the bullets. In addition Primal Command Buy does nothing against blue. Hence, 3 Eyes of the Wisent Buy.
[color=green]The rest is geared toward aggro.Considerations:Garruk Wildspeaker BuyBogardan Hellkite BuyVigor BuyMulldrifter BuyVenser, Shaper Savant BuyCryptic Command BuyMystic Snake BuyWall of Roots BuyEyes of the Wisent BuyBrine Elemental BuyFaerie Conclave BuyTreetop Village BuyThe deck is absurdly good.
