What's a Sideboard?

How it Works

My variant of a modern Junk deck I tuned for 2HG purposes. It now functions as a cross between Junk/Rock and Gate. The draw of the deck is to gain card advantage, hand disruption and quality creatures that establishes board position and takes over the game. Being 2HG, I naturally developed this for the mid range.

No Goyfs and Dark Confidents. Brilliant in Legacy and Modern, the (slightly) longer games and (slightly) bigger mid range creatures in 2HG demands a more well rounded creature base than vanillas. Bob and his life loss (coupled with the relatively higher CCs of this deck makes running him a greater risk).

No thoughtseize. It expensive and essentially a 1 for 1.

Gerrard's Verdict Buy: Treat this like Hymns 5-7.

Vampire Nighthawk Buy: lifelink, flying, deathtouch. Perfect blocker.

Phyrexian Arena Buy: Continuous card draw for only 1 life. Harder to remove than Bob.

Stoneforge Mystic Buy: Just wanted to add in the SFM package because he is so awesome. And she fits the 2 for 1 strategy.

Phyrexian Obliterator Buy: Is an incredibly fair beater which I imported from the Gate.

Baneslayer Angel Buy: Our secondary beater with lifelink. Not sure whats not to like about her.

Enlightened Tutor Buy and Diabolic Intent Buy: Our quintessential tutors. I need these to find silver bullets Oblivion Ring Buy against weird situations like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn Buy or to fetch Pernicious Deed Buy and even equipments.

Other considerations:
Denonic Tutor is a strict upgrade from Diabolic Intent Buy but I cant find this card anywhere from where I come from.

Qasali Pridemage Buy: Realized that this card (while being maxed out in utility) always seemed dead. You never want to cast one on T2 (Hymn being the premier spell of choice) and more often than not, it functions as a 3 mana disenchant. His exalted ability was also seldom used.
