Quoting Straightjacket:Yeah, we need some immunity challenges here.

Also, it'll probably be the same people getting banned in an endless cycle. Too many people have it out for each other in the GDF.

No, not really, we all get along, sure we fight but no claws are unsheathed.

How many votes are required for a week's vote to "count"? I can see people getting banned with < 4 votes, and that is lame.

What about in my case, where I will vote strictly on the basis that some people annoy me? Does my vote not count? How will you know whether I am making a legitimate complaint or not?

That's certanily a way of handling things, but i'm not sure how acurate it would be. With the possibility of being banned for some time, it certanily might scare some peopel straight. But again how many votes would actually consitute a banning?

I can see the eternal empathy of eM coming into effect here, where no one really bothers to vote except the people who are ticked off at others for disagreements prior. And the ability to constantly ban someone seems kind of unfair. I'm sure eventually the person would be off the hook, but still...

only person i ever found annoying was indy... and that was because all his stories of how he totally did a jumping roundhouse kick and knocked this guy out in one hit while saving a bus full of cheerleaders that was about to fall off a cliff in washington d.c, all the while deciding what to do about his countless ebay claims against him...

but thats just me

there will be a bit of a revision. among the bannable list there will be the option "none of the above". this will allow people to bypass the bannings on some weeks if there is no offense they find bannable. This allows people to still be dealt with when need be, while making sure a person isnt banned based simply on the apathy of people who dont want to pick anyone on the list.

Quoting ZombieSwordfish:How many votes are required for a week's vote to "count"? I can see people getting banned with < 4 votes, and that is lame.

there is no official number, because as of now i dont really know how many people plan on voting. it really depends on how many votes a person has as opposed to the other people. im hoping that with the "none of the above" option, a person with for example, if Person A has 4 votes, Person B has 1 vote, Persons C and D both have 0, and NOTA gets 2 votes, it seems like a significant majority of the people who care would like Person A to be banned, so it will be so.

i ask that you do vote, simply because i dont want the system to be abused.

Quoting NCO:What about in my case, where I will vote strictly on the basis that some people annoy me? Does my vote not count? How will you know whether I am making a legitimate complaint or not?

first of all, the person that annoys you must be on the list. second of all, im hoping that there will be enough people participating in this that some ass like yourself (i dont really think youre an ass Happy) wont be able to tip the scales to much. the none of the above option also helps aleviate this problem. if no one is deserving of being banned, despite you being annoyed with them, the majority of the people will let it be know.

Quoting Strider:Am I one of your 'borderline members'?

not even close.

Quoting kird_apes_a_popin':Just like federal elections, I will not vote in this one.

that is your choice, but i still ask that instead of not voting, save someone some grief and vote "none of the above". if you honestly feel like no one is deserving, the let it be known. federal elections dont give you this option. it would have been nice to choose NOTA on the last presidential ballot though.

so there you have it. those are my explanations. we can continue to discuss, and by all means suggest some things if you have a good idea. as of now though...

The List
Brave Fencer Musashi
Greenmaster
ValorsDream
None of the Above

there is list number one. its short so i can gauge how many people will vote. if i get a lot of votes, i may add more. remember, the address is eMbanhammerdemocracy@yahoo.com. all emails must be in by Nov. 16 at 12:01 CST. please vote responsibly.

p.s. pardon the spelling errors. im too tired to correct them.
