Don't look up Burner deck on Essential Magic. You probably won't find a competative version of it. Go to http://www.starcitygames.com
or http://www.mtgthesource.com and look up Burner there. Those are competative builds of the deck that actually are decent.

hey magic, you seem quite.... busy, would you mind giving me suggestions on this deck?
I built it on a random whim to create a T2 artifact deck, and I was wondering what others thought of it. In trials it seemed to run well, but it has a major weakness to control. If at all possible to take some time out of your busy doctoring schedule, could you make some suggestions to make this deck run better, while keeping it T2 artifact (couldn't be 100% colorless due to lack of speed, therefore a need for control.)

Lol, course I can help. Have you tried any of the signets? They would speed this deck up a lot. Heh, also...try Wrath Of God...to keep the board clear while you beat in. Also, try the artifact "Negator" card. It can be good, and win pretty fast. And also, if you work to assemble Tron as fast as possible, try that card Weathered Wayfarer to fetch tron faster.

Hope I helped...

Fish, good fish. It is a fun deck. For starters, fish decks are not mono colored anymore. Most of them are U/W, U/R, U/G, U/W/g, U/W/r, etc.

But yea, the most popular is probaby U/W.
There are many versions. Some famous ones(URBana Fish, U/W Phish, etc.) Top 8 numerous times at tournaments.

If you go to http://www.starcitygames.com OR http://www.themanadrain.com you can probaby find a good fish deck that you like.

Hope I helped, send me a Private Message if you need a request decklist and I will send you one(or more).

Hope I helped!

Thanks for the suggestions, I've tweaked my fish deck quite a bit now its now g/w/u lol. But anyways since you don't seem all that busy I figure I'd throw another deck your way. It was actually inspired by the cards pox/smallpox. Its my attempt at a competitve budget suicide black t1 tourney deck. I figure as it stands right now, it has a DECENT chance at being competitve, I would just like some suggestions its build 100% from scratch so I know theirs some wholes in it. Thanks again.

Ahh, Pox. What a wonderful card...NOT. Heh, I remember getting DESTROYED by Pox.

Sorry to say, Pox/Smallpox type of deck won't really be able to survive in this meta. The only way I can see that is if you go UBER mana denial and disruption. But even then, it is too slow. The reason why people has abandoned Pox is because its simply to slow and doesn't do much for the cost. If something costs BBB, then it should either WIN the game or draw an ubsurd amount of cards.

Anyways, in order to make a newer *updated* Suicide Black list, you must look at what you must play against.

Gifts
Stax
PitchLong
Bomberman
Dragon
etc.

Not that good for Suicide Black. BUT there are still people Innovating Suicide Black.

The deck isn't so *suicide* as it once was.
In fact, the deck has gone more combo-ish.

It runs these cards:

Dark Confidant Buy
Dark Ritual Buy
and...
Tendrils of Agony Buy

Take a moment to re-read that list. Yes Tendrils of Agony. How? Well its simple.

It just disrupts and beats...what most suicide black decks did, then eventual nails them with a small Tendrils FTW. Thats the difference, it would kill them in a single turn. It could also kill them without the beats.

Here is a list:

Maindeck:

Artifacts
1 Black Lotus (Restricted in Vintage)
1 Lotus Petal (Restricted in Vintage)
1 Mox Jet (Restricted in Vintage)
3 Null Rod
1 Sol Ring (Restricted in Vintage)

Creatures
4 Dark Confidant
3 Phyrexian Negator

Enchantments
1 Necropotence (Restricted in Vintage)

Instants
1 Ancestral Recall (Restricted in Vintage)
3 Cabal Ritual
4 Dark Ritual
1 Demonic Consultation (Restricted in Vintage)
1 Echoing Truth
1 Vampiric Tutor (Restricted in Vintage)

Sorceries
4 Cabal Therapy
1 Demonic Tutor (Restricted in Vintage)
4 Duress
2 Grim Tutor
3 Night's Whisper
2 Tendrils Of Agony
1 Yawgmoth's Will (Restricted in Vintage)

Basic Lands
4 Swamp

Lands
3 Bloodstained Mire
1 Cabal Pit
1 Library Of Alexandria (Restricted in Vintage)
3 Polluted Delta
1 Strip Mine (Restricted in Vintage)
1 Underground Sea
3 Wasteland

Sideboard:
3 Chalice Of The Void
1 Lion's Eye Diamond (Restricted in Vintage)
1 Tormod's Crypt
1 Cabal Ritual
1 Darkblast
1 Hurkyl's Recall
1 Rushing River
1 Grim Tutor
2 Ill-gotten Gains
1 Massacre
1 Tendrils Of Agony
1 Underground Sea

How the hell does this thing win?
Heh, either Drops Negator and beats then tendrils. Uses Dark Confidant as a draw engine and tendrils.

The deck can be very consistant. And it can be very good.

Hope I helped out!

Stormgald Concept 1/19/2007 10:20:03 PM

http://www.essentialmagic.com/Decks/View.asp?ID=521954

This is my "Stormgald Concept". The deck itself is a rouge deck, at least in my area and I haven't seen one quite like it yet. My 4 attacking creatures(all knights but haakon) have pro white, 2(1 i have to pay for) have first strike, 2 are pumpable, and 1 can fly. The concept behide the deck is to abuse buried alive as the ultimate creature search. For 3 mana I get 3 creatures I can play on following turns. This allows me to gain really good tempo and field prescence. In addition the deck runs fairly heavy discard theme for disruption. For bored control I run Mutilate, which imo is an amazing card. This deck can survive board whipe very well because of haakon, so it makes the deck fairly hard to stop once it gets rolling since it can recover quickly. The biggest problems I had with original version was graveyard removal via tormod's crypt so that being the case I redid the sideboard to contain pithing needles. This deck so far has been a blast for me to play, and according to friends relatively fun(all be it annoying) to play against. Most of my match ups seem fairly good excluding solidarity and a few others. The sideboard itself is fairly good at dealing with specific threats, but I'm worried it may not be broad enough to encompass rouge threats, but then again I'm also not sure that would be an sufficent reason to change it.. well hope this wasn't to much info for one sitting, thanks for looking at my deck!
