I play Cello...I'm more extreme than all of you.

[edit]Speaking of which, I need to come up with an orchestra shirt that has some type of music inside joke on it. Sexual innuendoes (sp?) are great as long as most poeple wouldn't get it. Any suggestions?

eric clapton is the most over rated guitar player i have ever heard. sure he can rip but he can't do it musically. he hasn't said anything new since the 70s. his blues solos are uninspired but people drop their jaws because he is moving fast. if you want fast, there are TONNES of players who could play circles around eric clapton.

I really wouldn't say that Clapton moves fast at all. That's one of the reasons why I like his stuff. It's not flashy, but rather engaging. I'm curious as to what solos you've been listening to, because all of his best stuff is the less technically impressive but more thoughtful stuff. I'll admit that he isn't as inspiring as he used to be (I blame the lack of drugs), but he certainly puts on an awesome live show. It's always hard to compare someone who has been at it for a lifetime to those who achieve fame for a short period of time, be it because they are new to the scene or their lives have ended prematurely. Keep in mind that Clapton kept going, even though his original muse expired, and still produced some great music.

Inspiration does not last forever. It's how one deals with its inevitable demise that determines whether one is actually an artist or just a channeller.

guess?! first one to get it right gets a prize....

i always break the G-string. and iunno where you heard only breaking strings once or twice a year? guitars are different. tension plays alot with it too, but string ware is the number one reason. they don't last forever.
