Real Life 2/9/2012 1:34:27 AM

What is this ishit? Now instead of waking up and deciding if I wanted to go to class (in my pajamas), I have to actually get up, look nice, or get fired. Seriously, what kinda colonial era slavery crap is that?

Also, when I worked at a Rite Aid, all I needed to know was that my fellow employee was an Indian man who occasionally stole candy bars for lunch, and the other was an obese white woman who couldn't reach the top shelf. Now I need to know actual names and ask about their families (even though I couldn't care less) just to seem like I'm a caring person and part of the "team." I mean, really, do you think I care that little Billy got on the 2nd grade honor roll or scored 2 goals in little league soccer this past weekend?

And one more thing, what the hell is up with deadlines, people asking me questions, and having to do actual work? No one said that was going to be part of the job description. I thought I'd get to sit at a desk, scratch my balls when no one is looking, sneak a quickie in the bathroom after glimpsing the nipple of a hot coworker slightly poking out because the office is way too cold, take longer lunch breaks than allowed by just enough that my bosses won't notice, and then get a nice paycheck every two weeks which I'll use to snort coke before coming to work.

F this, the real world sucks.

edit: Also, when did it become frowned upon when you joke about an employee for being black?

And this is why, I am A: currently Part time + student. B: Fully employed mid-upper management as soon as I get out of college.
And C: In 5-10 years, I will be retired.

I love my degree choices.

P.s. Go back and get a Law Degree, its +$20,00-$50,000 a year on your income.

Aether, I'm a grad student with a mid-upper management job that I got right out of college...

...And yes y'all, you read that right, some retarded dude thought good ol' smudge was capable of managing people...

...except I hate everyone. They keep asking questions and making small talk and stuff. Hell, I don't even know what half of my people are actually supposed to do.

Anyways, my point stands. Real life blows.

It's actually a terrible way to live your life. 2/9/2012 8:44:00 AM

For the few moments my mind was curious about experiencing real life, it discovered you're right. Now I constantly live in a fantasy world where I can work a low end job (that pays alright... but should be more) for the rest of my career and not worry about oh... affording to live once I can't work anymore. I love being delusional.

Well I'm glad you found the time to leave Reddit for a minute and come visit us here.

I don't blame you, though. Reddit is far more entertaining than we are. Sad

Today I got to conduct an actual job interview for the first time in my life. Unfortunately for the candidate, he was black so I didn't hire him...

You're thinking, "Is he kidding?" I don't know, am I?

O_O

I actually didn't hire him, but obviously not 'cause he was black. Dude was just way too nervous and didn't show any confidence in the interview. The questions weren't even that hard...very basic...I got them off the internet like 20 minutes beforehand and just changed them a bit to fit the job description lol. I'm not exactly the type that's going to take the time to think of those crazy psychoanalysis questions (something like "How would you market a telescope in 1750 when no one knows about orbits, moons, etc.?").

ps. I haven't actually told him yet, but he'll find out tomorrow.

edit: I like how the GDF gets to find out before he does. Love you guys. I think I'm just gonna make this thread about any shenanigans that happen at work.

NEW: Telescope 3000! It's happened to you, it's happened to all of us. There's a mighty fine lady who every night always forgets to close her window covers as she prepares for slumber. To your misfortune, her window is obscured by the what seems like an infinite distance away from yours. Introducing Telescope 3000! See into neighboring windows as you have never seen before. Never again just a blurry outline of the fairest lady on the block. With the Telescope 3000 you'll see details never thought possible, and be astounded how much quicker your wank sessions pass by. Get it now, before all your fellow perverts beat you to it.

Update:

If I've learned anything about the real world so far, it's that drinks are expensive and most people are ugly.

Otherwise, life is good. I'm still working and I just finished my first semester of grad school. I was an assistant teacher for some engineering ethics class, but the professor had something important come up and couldn't finish the last three weeks of the semester. Unfortunately, it was then up to me to teach, and grade the final exams, homeworks and research essays the students were assigned. Of course I didn't want to do any of that, so I just showed up to class and made them watch videos for the rest of the year. Unknowingly to the students, I also gave them 100s on the final exams just for doing it and 110s if they answered the extra-credit; I didn't read one response. For the idiots that didn't answer everything, I took off 20 points per unanswered question. I also gave everyone 100s on their essays just for turning it in, regardless of how terrible, plagiarized, or how many pages it was...because I wouldn't have known...since I didn't read them. If it was late, I gave them 90s. Of course there's the few that didn't turn in anything so they got 0s...oh well. I also just gave everyone 100s on homeworks.

Basically, I suck as a teacher because I'm too lazy to grade. But the way I see it, it's win-win for everyone. They pass and I don't have to care!

ps. I still hate everyone I work with. Well, not everyone, just all people that talk about how great their children are even though I don't care. Ok, everyone.

pps. No joke, but some lady was telling me how proud she was of her daughter that she's taking Latin classes in high school. You know, I nodded and agreed that it was great (all the while wondering if her daughter gave good blowjobs. What? High school could've meant an 18 year old). Anyways, then this lady states how it's going to be a great language to know in the future as the population of Latinos grows...

...I wanted to fire her right there.

What exactly was your role as an assistant teacher before the last three weeks?

Anyways, I'm done with finals and graduating on Sunday. Starting grad school in the fall. Real life is far too close for comfort.
