Interesting article!

I wish it had more meat, though. I mean, you've got some really cool stuff there and a neat idea on approaching deckbuilding from a Vorthos/Flavor perspective. But it ends too quickly.

Maybe some stuff on how to Vorthos-ize your deck over multiple games, like self-imposing a rule "If a planeswalker loses all its loyalty counters, I have to remove it from the deck after the game."

Or maybe some alternate formats to cater to a flavor perspective. There's no end to what you could do with rules tweaking - heck, you could turn a 5-player game into a 1-v-1 with three "purchasable" planeswalkers similar to the regular cards.

Four paragraphs can say things of substance first off. The delclaration of Independence is only six paragraphs. Another thing is that just saying an article is not an article doesn't help me improve. When I typed it out on word, it was a page. I apologize that it wasn't up to your standards. If you wish, maybe you can show me how to write a proper article with substance.

By the way, thanks Kevin for giving suggestions. Hope you win this month!

I really liked this article, being one of those people who enjoy the story and flavor of the game! I would only ask that you do it over again, posing more questions to contemplate and fleshing the thing out a bit.

Ooooh crap, now I have to write out the back story of how the kamigawa demons bailed at the end of the war and a unit of them and their ogres ended up on zendikar...

Why fight...

simple, because in the end there can be only one!

the spells I learned were... learned, its how I choose to study the art of spell casting.

Nice article.

Thanks. I plan on writing out rules that can actually simulate you journeying to get your arsenal of spells, if that's something that intrests you all. It took a while to figure out.

And a back story involving kamigawa and zendikar sounds cool. And the highlander reference made my day

Go ahead! I'm interested in comprehending the analogy between Magic storyline and real-life card-playing, just how I enjoyed comparing chess and real-life situations.

Enjoyable read and a perspective that I've frankly never really thought to hold. I would imagine playing MTG more along the lines of D&D would be very rewarding. I'll give it a try the next time I play.

When I read this I had images of you trying to say TINAC but someone pushed you before you could finish and you ended up saying TINAA....
