How does Vortex Elemental function with banding?

Hello, I was curious how Vortex Elemental Buy worked in conjunction with banding. As it can technically be part of a band, which attacks and blocks as a group, could its ability still trigger and force the opponent to shuffle a creature that blocks the band away? Would it force all creatures that block the band to be shuffled away?

The answer is favorable for Vortex Elemental Buy's controller. Whenever a creature in Vortex Elemental Buy's band becomes blocked by one of the defending player's creatures, each other creature in the band, including Vortex Elemental Buy, becomes blocked by that creature, too. That is, creatures blocking the band are also blocking Vortex Elemental Buy, so when you activate (no triggers at work here) its first ability, it and each creature blocking the band are shuffled into their respective controllers' libraries. -------------------- Comprehensive Rules --- Gatherer --- Tournament Rules
